Alumni Spotlight: Shelby Godwin (2019)

A 2019 magna cum laude graduate with a degree in Criminal Justice, Shelby Godwin is continuing her education at Campbell Law University. In her spare time, Shelby coaches volleyball and softball at Faith Christian High School. While at North Carolina Wesleyan, Shelby was a softball player and a sister of Delta Phi Epsilon. She earned a spot on the All-Conference Academic Team and 2017 USA South All Conference.

When asked what she enjoyed about being a Battling Bishop, Shelby stated, "one thing academically I loved is the support I received from my advisors and professors. The small class sizes allowed me to have a personal relationship with my professors. Each professor in the Criminal Justice department was able to offer me different advice and guidance based on their different careers." Shelby went on to add "being within the athletic family at NCWC helped shaped me into a leader and a teammate. Coach Brackett and Coach Mills challenged us to be the best player on the field and most importantly the best person you could be outside the diamond. I strive to be the best leader and team player in everything I face in life and in law school."

Congratulations Shelby and best wishes as you continue your education! #ncwcalumni #bishopfamily #bishoppride #ncwcsoftball
