ROCKY MOUNT, NORTH CAROLINA – NC Wesleyan College has hired Randi Mogul as Assistant Director of Residence Life for Edgecombe and Petteway Halls and recently promoted Steve Burrell to Interim Director of Residence Life.
With acceptance of this new leadership role, Burrell now provides direct supervision to live-in professional staff members, Janet Morrison and Randi Mogul. He will also continue to oversee Nash Hall and The Wesleyan Inn.
“I couldn’t be more excited about the future of Residence Life here at Wesleyan, especially with the addition of Randi’s depth of experience and the opportunity for Steve to further apply his leadership abilities,” stated Jessie Langley, Associate Dean of Students for Campus Life at Wesleyan.
In accepting his advanced responsibilities, Burrell is now the main point of contact for residence life and housing-related matters. Burrell will continue to reside in Nash Hall with his wife Amy and two sons, Alex and Luke.
Mogul joined the Wesleyan family in mid-July and will be supervising
the Resident Assistants and students in Edgecombe and Petteway Halls. While
living full-time in Petteway Hall, Mogul will work to build a strong sense of
community that supports each student’s growth and educational/co-curricular
goals. She will also oversee various building operation processes such as
issuing keys, health and safety inspections and work order submissions. In
addition, Mogul will lead departmental student-staff recruitment and training
initiatives, as well as recognition programs.
Mogul was born and raised in New York, earning her bachelor’s degree in English from the State University of New York at New Paltz. She was very involved in extracurricular activities during her time at the University, serving in roles as a Resident Assistant, student orientation advisor, writer for the student newspaper and as a member of the varsity softball team. Mogul later went on to obtain her master’s degree in organizational management from The Sage Colleges in Troy, New York. A lover of classic movies and food enthusiast, Mogul brings over 20 years of residence life experience to Wesleyan’s campus.
The College is excited about welcoming the arrival of new and returning students back to campus on August 27 at their annual Rock the Mount event. Classes resume on August 28.
