North Carolina Wesleyan University recognizes the importance of leadership programs for the campus community.  We believe it is essential for students to have an opportunity to hone their leadership skills for the enhancement of their personal and professional lives.  With rapid changes in technology, and global expansion of companies and organizations worldwide, Wesleyan’s leadership programs strive to create agile leaders equipped to embrace these changes.  Wesleyan’s leadership programs provide unique opportunities for students to learn from a combination of presenters, educators and local businesses.

Wesleyan Academy for Athletic Leadership (WAAL)

This is a program that aims to cultivate the leadership abilities of our Battling Bishop student-athletes.

National Society of Leadership & Success

NC Wesleyan students get the opportunity to participate in an on-campus program called the National Society of Leadership & Success which is designed to teach them about leadership, community citizenship and involvement. NSLS is the largest leadership honor society in the United States and NCWU is part of the national organization with 700+ chapters and over 1.4 million members. Students are selected based on exemplary academic achievement. Members have access to, more than $400,000 in scholarships, an exclusive NSLS job board, a personalized letter of recommendation and who learn from exceptional leaders like former President Barack Obama during exclusive Speaker Broadcasts.
