Adjunct Faculty Positions (Rocky Mount Day Program)

Adjunct courses taught through the Rocky Mount Day program are offered during daytime hours in the traditional semester format. Instructors interested in applying should submit an Adjunct Faculty Application and copies of transcripts directly to the Academic Dean office for consideration. Adjunct faculty instructors must have a minimum qualification of a Masters Degree with 18 semester hours of graduate work in the subject area they are interested in teaching to be considered; a PhD in the subject field is highly desirable.

Adjunct Faculty- Rocky Mount Traditional

The Rocky Mount traditional day program of North Carolina Wesleyan College expects to have future teaching needs for adjunct faculty in the following areas of study:

  • Anatomy/Physiology
  • Biology with a concentration in Ecology
  • Central American History
  • Computer Information Systems
  • Chemistry
  • Earth Science labs
  • Economics/Finance/Investments
  • English (application must include a cover letter and 3 letters of reference)
  • ESL – English as a Second Language (master’s degree required)
  • Geography
  • Latin American History
  • Mathematics
  • Marketing
  • Physics – lecture and labs
  • Political Science
  • Psychology
  • Sociology
  • Spanish (application must include a cover letter)
  • Teacher Education in the following subject areas: (NC Teaching License required.)
    • Science methods at the elementary school level
    • History methods at the elementary school level
    • Music, Art, or Theatre methods at the elementary school level
