Accessibility Services Coordinator & Counselor
North Carolina Wesleyan University seeks a motivated individual to serve as Accessibility Services Coordinator/Counselor. The Accessibility Services Coordinator/Counselor is a full-time, 10-month position (August to May) that proactively engages the campus community to coordinate services that create accessible and inclusive living and learning environments and ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The Accessibility Services Coordinator/Counselor works with various departments and faculty to provide training and assistance regarding reasonable accommodation and information regarding local, state, and federal legislation.
Qualifications
Includes Master’s Degree in Disability Studies, Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, or related field; minimum 3 years of experience in disability services (experience in higher education strongly preferred); and minimum 3 years of experience in personal counseling or related work. Anticipated start date: March 16, 2023.

Admissions Counselor
North Carolina Wesleyan University is a four-year, Liberal Arts University located in Rocky Mount, NC. We are inviting applications for a full-time Admissions Counselor. The position will be located in Rocky Mount, NC.
Summary: Assist interested incoming Traditional Day students regarding the admissions process; assist in the development of institutional application and information materials; advising of prospective and current students on the admissions process; have strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interface well with the public; assist with recruitment and admission efforts as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruits students year-round with heavy travel during the fall; cultivates prospective students by coordinating private visits with high schools, and boarding schools, as well as college fairs, conferences and College Night programs. Communicate and maintain a positive rapport with guidance counselors and alums.
- Develop a territory plan to enroll prospective students as a part of the stated enrollment goals of North Carolina Wesleyan University.
- Interview prospective students and their parents, including appointments on weekends and evenings.
- Review and evaluate the credentials of applicants for admissions decisions.
- Correspond via telecounseling and email with prospective students and applicants from assigned territory.
- Responsible for reporting all territory travel information in a timely manner, including: collecting travel information (college fairs, private visits); sending confirmations out before deadlines; check requisitions (when applicable); making copies of travel itinerary available to the admissions staff. Responsible for the evaluation of college fairs and private visits in order to assess for future travel planning.
- Assist the Director of Admissions in seasonal efforts as part of a divisional effort to include on and off-campus events and telemarketing programs.
- Provide a written weekly travel report of activities that include visits made, fairs attended, number of students contacted, professional contacts and phone calls made to prospects and applicants.
- Provide a monthly benchmark report to the Director of Admissions.
- Develop a year-end report of all recruitment territory evaluations.
- Assist the Director of Admissions to reach and/or surpass divisional enrollment goals.
- Demonstrate integrity and uphold the values and mission of the University.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- The position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Excellent public relations and organizational skills, problem-solving, communication and counseling skills, and computer literate
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Valid driver’s license and stamina for travel responsibilities

Summary:
The Admissions Processing Assistant serves as administrative support to the Director of Admissions – Processing. This position will assist with the processing of all documents related to student applications/acceptance as assigned by the Director of Admissions – Processing.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the processing of all student applications
- Develop, implement, and administer effective admissions record-keeping processes
- Prepare, maintain, and store (digitally or physically) admissions records and provide for the security, confidentiality, and proper destruction of these records
- Coordinate with IT the development, implementation, and maintenance of computer applications related to student information systems, imaging systems, and transcript production systems
- Oversee the process, evaluation and documentation of student background checks
- Complete applicant folders consistent with admissions procedures
- Follow up with that applicants to obtain housing and health forms, and record in SalesForce
- Obtain student transcripts required for applicant acceptance
- Communicate with candidates by telephone or email to notify students of missing documents
- Assist with covering the front desk when needed
- Adhere to strict confidentiality policies relating to admissions records
- Demonstrate integrity and uphold the values and mission of the University
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
- Minimum 1 year of admission/enrollment management experience preferred
- Ability to maintain a calm and professional atmosphere in a busy and dynamic environment; clear, concise written and verbal communication skills; time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of constituents including students, faculty, staff, and senior management
- Ability to think creatively, strategically and collaboratively
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate large amounts of data
- Ability to motivate team to insure accurate admissions data
- Must be computer literate, self-motivated with the ability to work independently

Assistant Athletic Trainer
North Carolina Wesleyan University, a member of the USA South Athletic Conference, is seeking applications for an Assistant Athletic Trainer position. This is a full-time 10-month position, beginning August 1st. The athletic trainer will assist in providing care for 15 NCAA Division III intercollegiate sports teams, including Football, M/W Soccer, Basketball, Tennis, Cross Country; Men’s Golf, Women’s Volleyball, Lacrosse, Track and Field; Baseball and Softball. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: prevention, treatment, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries; daily athletic training room operations; maintaining up-to-date and accurate medical records; practice and game coverage including weekend hours and some team travel. Sports assignments will be determined by the Head Athletic Trainer based on the applicants’ best qualifications.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree required/Master’s Degree preferred.
- BOC certification required
- NC State License or eligible
- First Aid/CPR certification for the Professional Rescuer
- Valid driver’s license
- Post offer background check required
- Experience with EMR’s
- Demonstrated knowledge/master of computer skills using MS Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with a wide variety of students, parents, and coaches
