More Facts About Me!

What’s your Hometown?
Nashville, NC

Why did you choose to work at NCWU?
My reason for working at NCWU is based on my experience as a transfer student.  As a student athlete looking to change majors and athletic divisions, NCWU had the staff in place to ensure my entire transfer process was easy and seamless.  At the time, I was very hesitant about transferring due to hearing stories of credit hours not always transferring between schools but still decided to pursue the transfer.  Prior to enrolling, I was able to come on campus and meet with the registrar and the program head of my intended major to see exactly what my transfer credits looked like and how long it would take me to graduate.  With their maximized transfer credit policy, I was able to graduate on track in two years.

During my time here, I always stated that if the opportunity to return to NCWU after graduating came available, I would love to come back here to work. In 2020, that opportunity became a reality when I saw there was a job opening in the Adult Studies Program. At this particular time, I was commuting back and forth to Cary from Nashville for work but was looking for employment back in my hometown of Rocky Mount.  Not sure exactly what it would entail, I applied for the position at NCWU and it led me to where I am today!  When I came back on campus after being away for graduate school for my interview, I spotted a few familiar faces. It was at that point that I knew I was making the right decision.  I absolutely love my job and how my position allows me help others in the same way I was helped to attend NCWU.  I love each and every person I get to interact with on a daily basis!  Wesleyan’s family feel has never gone away!
