Registration Dates

Fall 2024 – Online Registration

DATES OF EARLY REGISTRATION:

  • Tuesday, April 2 at 8 am (56+ Semester Hours)
  • Wednesday, April 3 at 8 am (24+ Semester Hours)
  • Thursday, April 4 at 8 am (0-24 Semester Hours)

Online Registration Instructions

  1. Go to my.ncwc.edu and log in to your account.
  2. Click the Students Tab at the top.
  3. Click the Online Registration link on the left-hand side
  4. Under Add/Drop Courses, select the correct term for which you are registering.
  5. Click Register or Plan.
  6. Click Course Search – Search by course code and instructor
    EXAMPLE: If you would like to register for Earth Science 171 with J.Kuglitsch:

    • Search ERS under the course code and Kuglitschunder Instructor, then click search
    • Find the section you want with the correct time of the course and it will show you how many seats are left, then click the plus on the left side of that course to select
  7. This will populate on your schedule to the right of the screen. Click Back to Search to repeat this process until all desired courses are on your schedule.

If you accidentally choose the wrong course or section, click the corresponding course in your schedule to remove from the schedule.

Satisfied with Your Schedule? 

  1. Click the green button in the top right corner that says registration checkout
  2. When the pop-up window comes up, place a checkmark in each box of the corresponding courses you would like to request to be in, then click request advisor approval.
  3. All courses that have been submitted for approval will turn green
  4. Click contact and email your advisor to inform them of your submission
  5. You have completed your registration for the next semester’s courses

Registrar’s Office Hours

We will be in the office and available from 7 am – 10 am and from 1 pm – 4 pm Monday through Friday.

Please send all paperwork and question to registrar@ncwu.edu unless it needs to be sent directly to one individual person.

Key Points

  • You MUST meet with your academic advisor to go over what courses you should take to meet your curriculum requirements.
  • Contact your academic advisor once you have submitted your online registration so that he or she can approve those courses to ensure your seat in the course.
  • If you do not get your schedule approved by your advisor, then you will lose your seat in the course and have to redo registration.
  • Remember that in order to be a full-time student you MUST register for at least 12 credit hours but no more than 18.
  • If you are going to need more than 18 credit hours, you MUST also complete the Overload Request and Registration & Drop/Add forms that can be found on this page.
  • If you want to register for an adult studies night or an online course you MUST submit a Cross Enrollment form as well as Drop/Add form that can be found on this page.
  • If you need to make changes to your major or minor, submit a Major/Minor Declaration form that can be found on this page.

Ready to Register?

  1. Go to my.ncwu.edu and log in to your account
  2. Click the Students Tab at the top
  3. Click the Online Registration link on the left hand side
  4. Under Add/Drop Courses, select the correct term for which you are registering
  5. Click Register
  6. Click Course Search – Search by course code and instructor
    EXAMPLE:
    If you would like to register for Earth Science 171 with J. Kuglitsch

Want to drop and/or add a course after submitting your online registration?

  1. Go to my.ncwu.edu and log in to your account
  2. Click the Students Tab at the top
  3. Click the Online Registration link on the left hand side
  4. Under Add/Drop Courses, select the correct term for which you are registering
  5. Hit register and you will see your schedule on the right with your academic plan and course search on the left.
  6. Search with the course code and instructor under “Course Search.” For example, REL 220 with A. Brice. You should enter REL in the Course Code and Brice in the Instructor.
  7. Once you find the course you are trying to add you can click the left plus button beside the listed course with the correct course code, instructor, day, and time.
  8. If your schedule is still stating pending approval, then you should left click whatever course you want to drop, and click cancel approval request.

OR

  1. If your schedule is stating registered then you will left click the course you want to drop, and click drop course.
  2. When you are finally satisfied with your schedule again, you will click the green registration checkout button in the top right. When the popup window comes up, then put check marks in each box that you are requesting your advisor’s approval for and click request advisor approval.

Please note that you should contact your academic advisor to inform them of this change.
