What is the Shelton Leadership Challenge?
The Shelton Leadership Challenge is a six-day residential experience that seeks youth who are rising 9th graders – 12th graders (graduating seniors included) with a 3.0 grade point average (unweighted) or higher.
The foundation of the program is based on General Shelton’s five cornerstones of values-based leadership—honesty, integrity, compassion, diversity and social responsibility. The core curriculum focuses on Personal Leadership Assessment and Interpersonal Dynamics, Role of Values and Ethics in Leadership, Leadership Traits and Approaches, Teambuilding and Empowering Others, Social Responsibility, Public Speaking, and Goal Setting.
Students also have the opportunity to participate in team building activities, high ropes course, service projects, and fun night activities to help students get to know others participating in the program.
