ROCKY MOUNT, NORTH CAROLINA – David Farris, President and CEO of the Rocky Mount Chamber of Commerce, will lead the 37th annual Day for Wesleyan Campaign starting September 18. A Day for Wesleyan is NCWC’s largest annual fundraising event giving area businesses, friends of the college, faculty, staff and thousands of alumni the opportunity to support their efforts to educate Wesleyan’s bright, young students.
Farris is no stranger to NC Wesleyan, having been a strong supporter for many years, including efforts as a volunteer during past campaigns. “I strongly believe in the mission of Wesleyan. The growth taking place at Wesleyan is having a profound impact on this entire region, and I want to do all I can to support that initiative” Farris states. “With the economic growth in this area on the rise, Wesleyan plays a major role by providing advanced educational opportunities and matching graduates to job opportunities in this area. We need to support them.”
Before taking the helm at the Chamber last year, Farris had a successful career with his family-owned car dealership. Farris is very active with civic duties serving on several local and state foundation and non-profit boards. He also served as past chairman of the capital campaign to build the Harrison Family YMCA in Rocky Mount.
“We are very excited to have David as our Day for Wesleyan chairman this year,” said Eddie Coats, VP of Advancement for NC Wesleyan College. “With a successful campaign, the resulting impact Wesleyan will make on our students’ educational experience, both on campus and in our community is a huge win for everyone.”
The annual Day for Wesleyan Campaign will kick off Tuesday, September 18. For more information on the campaign or to support the college’s efforts, please call 252.985.5266 or visit ncwc.edu/DFW.
