Wesleyan Students Awarded Rotary Scholarships

ROCKY MOUNT, NORTH CAROLINA—The Rotary Club of Rocky Mount recently awarded $17,000 in scholarships to six NC Wesleyan students using proceeds from the club’s annual signature project, Tackle the Tar 5K obstacle race which raises funds to “send local students to local colleges.”

Scholarship recipients must be residents of Nash or Edgecombe counties; demonstrate qualities of leadership, good citizenship, community spirit, and academic progress; maintain a 2.75 GPA or higher; and must be in their second year of study or higher.  “We are appreciative of the Rotary Club of Rocky Mount for making this opportunity available to our students, said Eddie Coats, Vice President of Development for Wesleyan, “It’s great to have community partners who support our future leaders and the pursuit of higher education.”
